When it comes to reading romances I'm drawn to stories full of steamy encounters paired with witty and fiery banter as well as characters who practically jump off the page.  With this series starter Ms. March has crafted a tale that brought a smile to my face along with a few blushes that entertained me from start to finish.  Keep reading to get a tempting glimpse of Real Good Man by Meghan March, along with my impressions of it, then add this first installment in the Real Duet to your bookshelf!

From USA Today bestselling author Meghan March comes a sexy new duet. We've all had the bad boys, now it's time for a Real Good Man.
Fall for a woman over text messages? No way in hell.
Reality can never be as good at the fantasy, right?
Wrong. It’s better.
Banner Regent is smart, funny, and she’s so far out of my league, she might as well be royalty.
I’m a mechanic from Kentucky. She’s a New York City party girl.
We were never supposed to meet, but one text started something neither of us saw coming.
How do you seduce the woman who already has everything?
Show her what it’s like to be with a real good man.

EXCERPT:

Finally, fifteen minutes after we said wed meet, Logan Brantley walks into the tapas bar.
Every curse word known to womanand several I make up on the flyflash through my brain.
This isnt fair. Logan Brantley is even sexier when hes not dressed in camo and carrying a big gun. More than one head swings in his direction. Women flip their hair and uncross and re-cross their legs as he steps up to the hostess stand.
A shaft of possessiveness lights up inside me, right along with nervous energy and my pounding heart. Back off, bitches. Hes not here for you.
I hear the low rumble of his deep drawl when he speaks to the hostess. She gestures in my direction, and he turns. Piercing blueeyes find me at the table where a lone water glass sits in front of me.
Liquid courage should definitely have been on the menu. Why didn’t I order a drink? Because I’m an idiot. Because I thought I could handle this.
Now my heart is hammering so loud, my voice will probably be inaudible, or even worse—quaver when I speak.
Logan walks toward me with long, sure strides. Hes taller than I realized. And broader. And bigger. Everywhere. Hes wearing a black Henley that stretches across his chest, leaving no doubt ofthe fact that the man is built. And his jeans. Jesus. Theyre worn and snug in all the right places.
The picture I found was clearly not recent, and its not just the fact that his brown hair is longer and shaggier. Hes one of those men who age well.
Logan stops in front of me when he reaches the tall bar table. He says nothing as his gaze drops to the toes of my boots and drags up every inch of my body.
Youre a hard woman to find.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

Readers looking for a little afternoon delight will get just that with this erotically-charged tale of opposites attracting set against the backdrop of a small town with all its colorful denizens and idiosyncrasies.  From its witty and rapid-fire dialogue to its deliciously naughty hero with a heart of gold, this romance kept me entertained from the first page to the cliffhanger of the last page.

Logan's finally gotten his life together after a youth where everyone looked down at him because of a drug-addicted mother and a wild reputation.  As an adult he now owns his own auto restoration shop and is greatly sought after by the single woman of his small town for being a good provider.  He's tired of all the women interested in him only for what's in his wallet which is just part of the reason why he's so drawn to the strong-willed Banner.  Their connection started out in a unique way with an inadvertently sent text and has continued to bring them closer despite their numerous differences.  Spending time with her, bringing her into his world, has both of them putting their hearts on the line in a burgeoning relationship that's combustible from the very start and ends with a dramatic twist.  Logan's exactly what I look for in my book boyfriends with his kind and honest heart, his strong work ethic, and good guy manners.  He treats women with respect out of the bedroom while giving them exactly what they want in the bedroom through interludes that show his talent for dirty talk and taking charge.  He sticks up for her when his town turns on her and claims her despite the danger to his heart which easily puts him in the role of white knight. He's supportive of her and never judges her for her past which endeared him to me.

Banner has always been a disappointment to her parents as they expected her to be just as accomplished as they are.  She's not the kind of woman to be led though (except in the bedroom) and is desperate to be her own boss.  Banner's far too outspoken to toe anyone's line which is why she'll only be a success in a job of her own making.  Until that time comes, and with her finances in limbo, she's left no choice but to leave the big city for a small town where she feels completely lost.  It's not long though before she wins the men in town over, while the women still see her as the enemy for her fiery connection to Logan. Her feelings for Logan cause her lots of problems as she's scared of the intensity of those feelings while her own self-esteem issues color how she thinks he feels about her.  Banner's always seen herself as a party girl, flitting through life without a care in the world, the queen of one-night stands who has trouble seeing a future with Logan despite how much her heart is becoming invested. Banner's a strong-willed heroine, outspoken and unconcerned about filtering her comments which had me laughing at times over her antics.  Other times left me frustrated with her though as she tended to jump to conclusions and looked down at others early on.  Many of her choices were self-destructive and not well thought out which made her appear younger than her years and fueled her self-description of being flighty.

This was a quick read fueled by fast-paced dialogue that amped up the sexual tension between Logan and Banner after all their erotically-charged texts early on.  It's a scorching tale of opposites attracting that had me smiling one moment and blushing the next over the combustible words and deeds that connect these two larger than life characters.  Setting their story in a small town added a bit of charm too as well as suspense over a dangerous drug dealer that's just starting to pick up speed.  Readers are also introduced to a small cast of secondary characters who have left me intrigued and who bring out different facets to Logan and Banner.  Their backgrounds are compelling, full of pain and betrayal, and have me longing to hear more of their stories.  Ultimately, this was a scorching romance with fun and flirty encounters between two unforgettable characters.  With the surprising twist at the end of the story readers will be left clamoring for more and counting down the days until the next installment.

My rating for this is a B+/A-

*I got this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinion.

AUTHOR INFO:

Meghan March has been known to wear camo face paint and tromp around in woods wearing mud-covered boots, all while sporting a perfect manicure. She's also impulsive, easily entertained, and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she loves to read and write smut. Her past lives include slinging auto parts, selling lingerie, making custom jewelry, and practicing corporate law. Writing books about dirty talking alpha males and the strong, sassy women who bring them to their knees is by far the most fabulous job she's ever had. She loves hearing from her readers at meghanmarchbooks@gmail.com.
